KNITPICKS!

May 11, 2008 / by woollyseashell

Mmmm....my order of yarn from knitpicks just came in yesterday and I'm SOOOOO excited! I'm saving my pretty lace yarn for when I start on whatever stole or shawl I end up choosing to make but I had to hop in and make up a pair of fingerless gloves that I've had for a while now. I'm thinking about making a pattern of my own but maybe sometime later. My brain is pretty much fried at this point. I like to call this "mommy brain". Man, oh, man do I feel like I'm in a fog lately. I've been running around taking care of the kids and in the meantime I'm just trying to keep the momentum of the business going.

But with my stuff of etsy...phew...I need to get back on that bandwagon. I have some crocheted dishclothes that I started to make and I want to get some more of my girly hemp necklaces finished for the summer season. Reading in the etsy group on ravelry I learned that slow sales could be helped by adding some extra tags to each item like "shell" and "shells" just to cover all the different ways that people might search for an item. After adding some extra tags to all my items I saw that my views had gone up just a bit so hopefully that'll help some of my items sell.

Someone once told me that "self employment without self discipline equals self distruction"....I really need to get back on the ball. Haha. I'm thinking about setting up a time each day to create new items for my store.

I had a dream about joining a knitting group last night...it was pretty neat. I've been trying to get my Grandma Carol, Ma and a few of my other relatives together to start a little group so we all can spend some more time together. Hopefully I'll get that rolling soon. Maybe all I need to do is pick a day that we can commit to and find a place where we can meet every week.

Lesson of the week...I've really got to put myself back together and keep busy.
